The Olymics has been a great success with Rebecca Adlington and David Davies being my heroes. But the thing that was kept low in the olympics was the pollution. The rowes and canoeists were in a lot of danger and people worrying about what the water would be like for the open water swimming. So what really happened. What was beijing like. This seems weird for it to tie in to our thjing but altogether we are trying to save our planet.
What does everyone think?
What can be done for London 2012 and how can we make an effort?
It’s just a thought.

In my opinion China has the pollution and human rights problem. The goverment couldn’t be bothered to clear up the mess.
There was evidence of pollution, a huge fog mist was floating around Beijing. Thousands live in Beijing, some of this population have cars, others have bikes. In around 20 years time, China maybe will have the most population and a huge population with cars.
In terms of Human Rights- nothing we can do. But I am angry about it. I would not be allowed to say all this if I was actually in China or had Chinese passport.
My family are from Hong Kong an island off China. So I know of the problems too well.
For 2012 we should deal with pollution early to give time for fog mist to die down.
Good point, daniel
In interesting post Geog Dude.
HEre is an interesting article about it.
The Chinese have moved some factories out of Beijing and limited car owners to driving every other day.

Exactly. The Communist Chinese Goverment doing what it does best. Taking too much control with very little freedom.
Did anyone watch the closing ceremony? Very ironic that Boris Johnson, Mayor of London, has chosen a Red Bus for a symbol of London and it is the most primary cause of global warming.
See everyone back at school
Ye thats right there are a lt of eco-friendly sights in london.
Eco- Firendly? How can an un-eco-friendly red bus promote London?
No daniel what i meant is that they should have used another sight
How about the Wombles on Wimbledon Common? Can we bring the Wombles back for the Eco- Martyrs?
It’s funny, I was watching T.V and the comedian was saying that a BP petrol station has a wind turbine on top of it. So what B.P are saying is that fill up as much as you like- our till is powered by the wind.
ha ha
Are you laughing about the wombles bit?
Underground, Overground, Wombling Free,
The Wombles of Wimbledon Common are we.
Making good use of the things that we find,
Things that the everyday folks leave behind….
